I like a good story. I'll even listen to the same story over and over by the senile people around me. Well, a few times. I do get bored quite easily (maybe bored should have been my B word?).
Individuals achieving great things, making astute statements, and finding fulfillment in realizing who they are give me that warm fuzziness inside to enjoy a story. A plot is good. Action will entertain. Failing to relate or understand to any character in a story will bore me to tears and allow me to drop a book.
I never thought about why I like reading so much about scientists. Working in science whether physics, cosmology, biology, chemistry, geology, or even psychology is a quest for answers. Seemingly insurmountable problems can be overcome with ingenious insights or disciplined methodical processes. Either insights or discipline are traits I self-identify within myself, but I also wish were better developed. Maybe one day I will hold the right character.
