Ah ha!!! I'm almost done. So close I can taste it. Today was the last day that I had to teach swim lessons, and boy does it feel glorious. No more kids whining about how they don't want to swim. No more kids coming up out of the water and spitting a mouthful of water in my face. A week ahead to just relax. But first I have to make it through league finals. Tomorrow is seriously going to suck. I thought it was bad last year when I had to stroke and turn judge at the meet. This year I have to be in charge of lotsa squirrely kids. Not going to be a pleasent experience. But the feeling when it's all over will be a sigh of great relief. I will have made it through the year. I will have put up with a year of politics in the city and done my time. All this extra stuff that head coaches have to do. I just wanted to work with swimmers and help them with their stroke. Instead I got a whole bunch of stuff that I was unprepared for, and hopefully I dealt with it to the best of my ability. I could have had a better year, sure. But, if I coach again next year (back up plan) then I will have an idea of what to expect.
