Your Love, Keeps lifting me Higher, then I've ever been lifted before

I shall update and comment on several aspects of my life. I could recap the whole week, and that would do fine seeing as this whole daylight savings time threw me off so I now have to wait another hour to eat becuase it opens at 11 new time instead of 11 old time. Allright. Last night was the Halloween dance at my school. I was among a select few people from my floor who did not attend. I had a conversation with Adam before hand, and we both agreed that this idea for a dance was rather 7th Grade-ish. I had other things to do, so I worked on them in peace and quiet...for a while...until everyone started coming back from the dance saying how it sucked and was rather 7th grade-ish (exact quote from someone). It was a costume party, and while the ladies from my floor found creative wholesome costumes to wear to the dance, it appears that a number of other females dressed up as naughty nurses or Catholic schoolgirls, or...allright I'll spit it out, they looked like prostitutes. I personally think that a lady can classy and attractive without degrading herself to looking like a slut. Apparently some people want to give a certain impression about themselves and the quality of their lives, and they got the message across loud and clear.

I am in the Freshman Leadership Program. It's amazing how few leaders we actually have, and how many followers just try and fit in.

I got my new computer monitor on Friday. I was über excited when I got it. Not only is my desk no longer taken up by a huge box monitor, by now I can watch T.V. on my computer. The one thing that I didn't get on Friday, which I was looking forward to was my absentee ballot. It decided not to come to me, so I will not be able to vote in this election. I'm frustrated, but there's not much I can do about it, except be confident that I am aquainted with the system so it shouldn't happen again.

My week went well. It was a long week, but I think it was a good week. I feel confident about the Poli Sci test I took on thursday, I made money at work, I read a cool poem in English. We were studying Japanese poetry, and the end of one of the poem's really struck home with me. It goes as follows.

I find this world
a hard and shameful place.
But I cannot fly away--
I am not a bird.

Question: You see a pile of freshly raked leaves. On top of the pile is a leaf that speaks to you. You take out the leaf and preserve it in your scrapbook. How did the leaf speak to you?
