Now I'm hiding in my room and reading Big Bang

So, hey. You know what's fun? Taking a drive with your parents. One of whom has advanced Parkinson's and the early signs of dementia and the other who refuses to admit she's going deaf and gives directions like, "OK, well, you're going to turn left at this light."

So I turn left.

"No, no, not here."

"I thought you said that light."

"Well, I did, but I meant the other one up there."

"Yeah. OK. We're switching to Spanish, now. Aqui means right here, alli means over there, and alla means WAY over there."

Later, she tells me "Make a left on Hickman," as I cross through the intersection of Hickman and University. In the far right lane.

Don't even ask me about the roundabout debacle.
