Each morning, the boy spread marmalade with painstaking attention to every last crumb.
Severus wondered when it was that he'd become so ridiculously soft. There was a time when this, and Potter's other idiosyncrasies-such as his insistence upon using a blanket in the heat of summer, a single foot always protruding from beneath it-would've sorely tested his admittedly limited patience.
Now, they not only escaped his ire, he very nearly found them... charming.
It was appalling.
Potter looked up from his task and smiled, suffusing Severus with uncommon warmth.
Ah.
Well.
He could live with a few eccentricities.
