The storm batters Hogwarts, and Severus steps through the gates to submit himself to its force. He bows his head under the downpour, letting the rain soak his robes.
The manacles, shining in the darkness, challenge the storm's fury. Copper conducts electricity. He raises his wrists to the sky, calling down lightning.
There's warmth in the cold - copper conducts heat. Potter followed him into the storm, had dared to touch him.
His master's drying spell extends to cover Severus, his master's light is given to light his path back to the castle.
Drenched, his manacles clanking, Severus follows the light.
