We closed the bookstore early today, after being open for less than 2 hours -- pretty much the whole Plaza will be closed before 2 oclock.  I found it unreasonably amusing to have all these other stores (Lucky Brand Jeans, the Gap, the Armani Exchange, Mac, Banana Republic etc) calling us to find out if we were closing.  The Apple Store guy came ( Read more... )

This morning it was 62 degrees, bright and sunny and warm.  Now, it's hovering in the thirties, with a blustery wind, and there is snow.  Lots of snow.

Weirdness.

There is snow under the bushes, and ice in the shady corners of the streets, but the sun is warm and the sky is bright, bright blue. Soon enough, rains will come in torrents, and wash away the last of the salt and grime that the fading winter leaves behind ( Read more... )

It's 5 degrees outside, and I have to leave my warm bed and go to work.

*fumes*

First really cold day of the season! Dropping from the upper 50s to the lower 20s in the space of less than two days seems a bit unfair. And I haven't turned my furnace on yet! Brrr.

I mean, come on. There's pleasantly brisk, and then there's 'hey! I think my ears fell off!'. The wind is cold down here in the city!
