Bonjour, mes amis.

After five hours I have finally finished documenting my Paris photos. Go here to make my wasted day seem worthwhile. There is a fantastic panoramic photo of Paris at night here.

In other news, it was a rather hectic weekend. Went to the Howl's Moving Castle and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind double at The Astor with matt88. Howl's Moving Castle was excellent, and is apparently based on a novel by Dianna Wynne Jones. Although I was frustrated by the Disneyfied ending. The wicked witch realises that everyone else is all happy again and what-not and basically says something along the lines of "Oh look a happy ending. Well, we'd better stop this war then." What a gormless finish. Buh!

Nausicaa is an old classic of a much darker tone. Very enjoyable but at that stage the Astor seating had become excruciatingly uncomfortable. That's the only problem with that venue.

Despite the late evening, we were up again at 5 am to drive out to Werribee to go Aerochuting. An aerochute is a powered parachute - basically a propellor driven go-kart attached to a chute that can reach an altitude of 5000 ft. The ceiling at Werribee though was 1,500 ft due to the proximity of Point Cook and the RAAF base. I took matt88's camera up with me and got some fairly decent photos as well as some trippy videos of turns.

We found a French cafe on Clarendon st for breakfast on the way home. The waitress didn't speak much english which prompted a slight comedy of errors, but she was very sweet. We ended up ordering blueberry pancakes which were somewhat different to the expected American pancake stack that everyone is used to, but they were absolutely delicious nonetheless.

After getting home and grabbing a few hours sleep, I woke up feeling even more the worse for wear and head down to the Scout hall for our small scale working bee. The den is nearly finished, finally. Huzzah! We only have the carpeting to do before officially moving in and getting organised. It's only taken 3 years.

That evening I hosted a wine night and decided to include catering. It was a very enjoyable evening despite having only three guests. The usual suspects were all AWOL. We only made it through 3 bottles of wine though. Most of that being consumed by maraku and myself. It's a fairly average acheivement for us, we usually manage five. A 4:30 am bed time made things interesting the next day, and probably plays quite a role in the cold I seem to have woken up with this morning.

Yesterday, I obtained new orthotics so hopefully I'll be able to walk without pain very very soon. Then I did some shopping in various places on the outskirts of the city before meeting up with gwyntt and her cousin from Israel for an enjoyable evening at the Queen Victoria Night Market. Thus I am completely and utterly broke for the next week and a half. Yay! Luckily I do have some very nice goodies to show for it though ;)
