Extra Legroom
The clinic manager finally made a discovery today. The date of my departure finally sunk in. The conversation went something like this:
Steve: "Hey, when are you leaving again? Not the 15th?"
Me: *resigned tone at having said this umpteen times before* "No, I'm leaving on the 16th."
Steve: "Awww, really? That's the day after mine. I leave on the 15th. If you'd left a day earlier we would have been on the same flight. Seriously, you should have booked the day earlier. I could have gotten you into the lounge. I could have upgraded your seats and everything. Platinum card. How cool would that have been?..." (continue ad nauseum and with increasing enthusiasm, because, you know, it would have been 'so cool')
Me: O_o
Meanwhile, I'm thinking "You only tell me this now?! What were you doing when I told you my flights a month ago? Doing your tax return?"
Ok dammit, I'm just jealous. Yes, it would have been cool. I neeeeeeed that exta legroom.
