Hay thar bb <3 Appearance: Dante strikes an imposing figure to most at 6'4" and being mostly comprised of muscle. His silver-white hair and ice-blue eyes are probably his most striking features, other than the usual snarky grin he has on his face. He wears a red leather trenchcoat with one ripped sleeve thanks to Vergil, black leather pants, and a pair of black boots. A brown gun holster sits on his shoulders and crosses his chest, the shoulder straps converging into a "V" and ending at about the mid-back, where Ebony and Ivory, his beloved pistols, sit. This holster also has a magnetic sheath on it, allowing Dante to be able to sheath one of his Devil Arms at his back along with his guns. In addition to this, he has a pair of black leather fingerless gloves that reach to his wrists. These are actually a spare pair, as Dante kept the one Vergil slashed as a momento.
Personality: To put it bluntly, Dante's quite cocky. His ego's larger than most, and his superior fighting abilities don't help in toning said ego down. Really. He's crude, sarcastic, and loves to tease both friend and foe alike. However, that doesn't mean he's a complete asshole. He'll help someone if he knows that they're in serious danger, and is actually quite smart. He just tends to hide it with his demeanor. Although, like most teenagers, he's impatient and impulsive, he tends to rush into a situation without thinking about the possible consequences first. Not even demon blood can temper that much. But he can honestly admit the fact that he's getting better about it, especially after the Temen-ni-Gru incident. But even with the laid-back attitude he's got, he's still not someone you want to take lightly, especially with the fact that he has Sparda's blood running through his veins.
However, he loves a fight, and is quick to answer any challenge. But a more experienced fighter can tell that Dante holds back against his opponents at first. This is used as a testing method to see whether he needs to tap into his latent demonic powers. If not needed, then he won't. It's as simple as that. One easy way of telling if you actually might be a challenge for him is if he actually stops being as sarcastic as usual. Either that or he's not in a good mood. But for all intensive purposes, Dante doesn't actually completely lose his temper all too often, but when he does, expect something to get destroyed.
Abilities/Strengths: Dante's got superhuman strength, reflexes, and an uncanny ability to heal near-fatal wounds within seconds. This makes him extremely difficult to incapacitate, although it's not impossible. He's also an expert marksman, swordsman, and is proficient in several different forms of martial arts, molding them into his own unique style. He'll have Rebellion and Ebony & Ivory on him.
Weaknesses: Although Dante really doesn't have any physical weaknesses at first, holy water has been known to slow him down quite a bit, burning his body and forcing the healing process to delay. His main weaknesses deal with his psyche. Having his family taken away from him, then supposedly betraying him as Vergil did at Temen-ni-Gru has left him a bit suspicious of family situations. Also, his recklessness and impulsiveness tend to lead him into dangerous situations where only his luck has saved him, and that usually is a longshot in and of itself.
History: The younger of the twins born to the Dark Knight Sparda and his human wife, Dante has been trained in the arts of demonslaying ever since he could walk and hold a weapon, along with his twin, Vergil. However, their father disappeared when they were still young, leaving Eva to defend her sons on her own. The trio were constantly moving from place to place, never staying too long in fear of being attacked.
A few years later, Dante was the supposed sole survivor of a demon attack on their home, leaving his mother's corpse in the burning house while clutching Rebellion to his chest in shock. He thought he lost his brother as well, but fate seemed to have different plans for the brothers.
About ten years later, Vergil appeared again to Dante, this time trying to unseal the measures that Sparda had placed on the gateway to the Demon World in order to confront Mundus, the demon king. In order to do that, however, he needed both halves of the amulet that was split between the two half-demon sons. He lured Dante into following him throughout the newly raised Temen-ni-gru and eventually found out that they both had been duped by a human that was helping Vergil out at the time. Eventually, the two resolved their differences to defeat this human, who had gained demonic powers in order to try and become a full-fledged demon himself.
After that fight, the two brothers fought each other to see who would gain control of the amulet halves and their father's newly-awakened sword, Force Edge. Dante won by a slim margin, and the gateway began to collapse shortly after their skirmish. Vergil then decided to descend into the Demon World on his own, taking his half of the amulet with him. As much as Dante tried to stop him, there was no turning back for the elder Sparda twin.
Dante hasn't seen him since.
Shortly after that incident, Dante decided to move out of that particular town and eventually found himself in Metropolis. Although the city looks safe, the red-clad half-devil knew that there were hidden dangers that nobody knew about. However, some of these dangers weren't of the demonic variety. Even though there were still some evils that he hadn't taken care of for the most part, Dante knows that he can't kill humans, no matter how immoral they were. Unless they were demonically tainted in some way, he couldn't lay a finger on them. That ideology was drummed into his brain ever since he first started training.
However, it seemed that there came a day when Dante would bite off more than he could chew during a fight, and he was unfortunately killed during the conflict.
