My husband likes to tune into the youtube political video blogging... which is actually a rather broad description of what they do. Some of these guys/gals are "OK"... but some are really retarded. He has two favorites, one being Phillip DeFranko & I cant remember the other one. I dont have much of an opinion on them... between the two SXEPHIL is better I guess but thats only because he actually talks about legit things instead of pulling his "news" out of random celebrity lives and so forth the way the other guy does. Both of these commentators are rude, offensive, vulgar pigs who I would readily slap if I had the chance. However, I don't, so all that can be done is to let D know I dont like them very much and drop it since he is an adult and needs to be able to make his own decisions.
The whole reason this topic is on my mind at all is due to the fact that SXEPHIL was commenting, with his father, on the school shooting and how Wal-mart, (the store that never runs out of anything), ran out of guns & Furbies just prior to Christmas. Now, this is not true for my Walmart... because in my area of the world we have enough firearms stores around that no one goes to walmart for guns or ammunition except if its a dire emergency... and a lot of the people around here are smart enough to not buy furbies... [they're possessed I tell you!!! My sister has 2 of the fucking retards!!! I would know about demon possessed toys after being around her furbies!! LOL]
But on the firearms issue: Anyone who knows me, knows I am an avid supporter of firearms, the right to bear arms, etc. I am what many consider to be of the politically conservative mindset and I dont get along well with liberals. I respect President Obama in so much as he is the president of the united states but I do not like him or his decisions and have never voted for him at any point in history. I firmly believe that he cheated during both elections, and am rather verbal about my disagreement with his decisions, especially those concerning how his decisions have screwed me or my husband in this or that aspect.
Anyway... Phillip was commenting on how the NRA had made the comment to the effect of "Israel implemented guns in schools and now they have no more school shootings" and then went on to comment on the fact that there is more to the story. Apparently although Israel did in fact implement the use of security guards and firearms in their schools and so forth, that the normal every day citizen arent allowed to carry firearms.
I have several comments on the current situation. First of all it was foolish for the NRA spokesperson to have made that statement without truth to back it up. The statement that was made hits me as that which has been made quickly, prior to having checked facts, and in this tug-of-war between pro-gun & anti-gun we cannot afford to have such mistakes being made. It lends an illegitimacy to our cause and will then in turn cast an unseemly light upon our other claims, such as our second amendment rights to bear arms even to the point of protecting ourselves from the government. (if you read the 2nd amendment, there is a comma behind "every state has the right to its own militia" which when read in context can be taken to mean that according to the constitution, not only do we as US citizens have the right to bear arms but that it is also our right to keep our government in line with those firearms.)
Second of all, President Obama hasn't really hidden his true intentions, if one takes the time to do some fact checking and background checking on the main influences of his life during his growing up years. There was a documentary made on his life and primary influences that I had the opportunity to watch... but my statements on this man who I must call Mr. President are not entirely derived from this documentary. I have also read some other things on him that backs up much of what has been said.
I firmly believe, that this man intends to bring our beautiful country to ruin. He intends to turn our financial system on its head and thereby turn us into a third world country, while also "disarming" us at the same time on both the home front, and on the world wide scale. He has repeatedly stated that he intends to get rid of all weapons that could be used by its citizens, as well as intentions to disarm all of our nuclear warheads, warships etc., and downsize our nations military until it is so minor, perhaps even non-existant, that we are sitting ducks for any enemy country to come along and wipe us out in a massive mushroom cloud.
Some of the people involved in this "discussion", argue that our country has not been as Christian as we've been led to believe, with arguments such as "our founding fathers weren't very good Christians! They had slaves!" (among other things) but when you consider the time period, it was not considered a sin at that time to own slaves because they were worshiping and attending church according to "The Church of England" standards. At that time, many of the men and women, although having attempted to get away from the oppression of living under the king and the thumb of the church, weren't able to accomplish this as much as much as they thought they would be able to, and so ended up living in a more liberal version of the same situation they had left behind. Most of whom still ended up trusting the ministers to decide what was acceptable for Christian behavior... our founding fathers not exempt. So if at that time the church said it was OK to own slaves or indentured servants, then they would not have considered it to have been as much of a sin as that of committing adultery or murder. This of course does not excuse them from having sinned, especially when one considers that God does not consider one sin worse than another. I am sure that the men and women of the day have had to pay their "dues" to our Lord when they died for their various sins, but truly who of us all are unblemished and sinless.
Bringing our founding fathers into this argument is somewhat childish considering that it does not resolve the issue, it just muddies the water a little bit more so that perhaps people won't pay quite so much attention to the real issues at hand. That being that our government has lost touch with the people, and in so doing have betrayed us.
Our politicians know that we the people have the right to overthrow them and do a mass overhaul of our corrupt government, as well as believing that the mass majority of their common people are too stupid to know better, (which may be true) so the liberals believe they must "protect" us from ourselves by taking away our weapons and modes of self-protection. This is something we cannot allow them to do!
Right now, one of the states on the east coast, which will remain nameless at this time, is deliberating about the possibility of forcing its citizens to possess a concealed carry permit in order to purchase ammunition, as well as enforcing a 400% tax upon it.
This state, and one of its neighbors, is currently the highest taxed in the country. Many of its citizens have decided that if they go through with this that they will be moving to a neighboring state that has more practical gun laws.
Also, on a side note, Illinois, has been given an ultimatum of drawing up appropriate firearms laws within 3-months "or else" because their state currently has the highest crime rate in the entire country. This crime rate is no coincidence. Statistically, when you remove firearms from the general populace the crime rate in that area raises. It's a fact.
[Currently IL is a state that has zero gun laws what so ever, to the point that if I were to go to Chicago for the day while wearing my pistol, I would be arrested on the spot because although I am registered to carry in Indiana, they do not recognize that I have that right and so would therefore arrest me. Neighboring states are having issues with them on this matter, feeling that their law abiding citizens are being unnecessarily harassed etc.]
Around the time of the school shooting, Indiana legislature went into their books make it legal for students and teachers to carry firearms into the classrooms to protect themselves, as long as they have the schools permission before hand, only to realize that this law had already been passed, and had been in effect for over 10-years. My brother told me about it, I don't know the exact year the law was passed. Finding out about this only solidified my decision that I would not be leaving Indiana any time soon unless something drastic occurs.
