Wonderful wonderful Film!

Just back from Half Blood Prince. As many have already said, the best one so far! It's not a kids movie anymore. It's grown up in leaps and bounds. I didn't think it was a "darker" film either as some of the cast were saying at the prems. It was funny, with some really witty lines. It was exciting! It was action packed! It was romantic! And it was ( Read more... )

You will always get people like that and they spend so much time nit picking that they don't enjoy the actual movie! Just read a revue just like that from the Mail.
My niece and nephew are coming back to Uk to live along with my with my sister so I'm hoping they will get into reading the books. I did buy the first one in Greek for Alexia some years ago but I don't think she read it and she wants English books now. It's right what AR keeps saying about not spoiling things for children who have just started out reading and watching the movies. He's the only one in the cast who keeps to that and you have to admire him as much as I'd like to see an interview or two with him!
I don't read an awful lot but I do listen! Struck me some time ago that my biggest "dead time" is the 40 minute journey to and fro work so I started buying audio books. Have listened to loads of them now and it also makes the time go quicker and I don't get so stressed with other drivers! I've just started "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon. It's very long so should last me a good month. I've got a couple of the "Twilight" novels queued up in my wish list as a friend recommended them to me and also AR's reading of " Return of the Native"! Have you read the Time Traveller's Wife? I hear they are making it into a film which should be interesting but it is one book that I
don't think I would have understood so well had I read it. On the audio, they had a male and female reader and it was great to follow.
Please keep JS & MrN because I doubt I will get to read it now. Maybe you will enjoy it more than I did. I'll keep a note of those Susan Cooper books though. They sound interesting.

I've got the book of Outlander but not got around to it yet. I've heard they're very good (there's a lot in the series I gather).

I've quite liked the two Twilight books I've read but not everybody does. And it's another set of books where people can be rather snobby about them because they're not Great Literature.

Yep, read The Time Traveler's Wife a couple of years ago. It was okay but, like you said, I had trouble following it. I'll be interested to see the film though!

Okay then, if you're sure you don't want JS & Mr N? If we manage to meet up sometime I'll pay you for it.
