Just got back from an incredible week and a half on the Côte d'Azur and can't bear to do any work yet. Still feeling far too languid for that. Natch.
Things I have learned on my holiday:
- The Rolling Stones are probably the best live band in the history of the world. I went to see them in Nice expecting a good show, but was absolutely blown away. I suppose that's what 4 decades in the business will do. Well done to all the jolly wags who waved inflatable palm trees at Keith.
- Going on holiday the day after you move house is not the best idea.
- Going anywhere with a gang of lary substance-abusing Mancunians is fun but you will periodically feel the need to hide behind large objects and pretend you don't know them.
- St Tropez is a crazy place. Note to all men who feel the need to wear white linen trousers for posing around the harbour - VPL is not a good look, especially when they're enormous patterned boxers.
- The Malfoys are going to have a holiday place in the unplottable wizarding quartier of Cap d'Antibes as soon as I can get it into a story.
- I spend too much money on holiday.
- Can't wait to go away again.
- I am scared of my new flat because it feels like someone else's house and I shouldn't be there.
- Spending an entire plane journey playing I-spy is actually quite good fun.
