Dream - 006 (Canon Update)

Dream effects: Mostly horror for a good portion of the dream. There's a little bit of loving warmth in there, and then the ending... Kind of speaks for itself.
Warnings: Gore throughout, but there’s a picture at the end that is very bloody.

[... He hears you Gil. His Dreamberry is face down on the bedside table, so you can probably hear his breathing.. It kind of sounds like it's hitching, like he's really doing his best to stop himself from crying, but he was really hoping Gilbert couldn't tell.

He couldn't show his face to his brother like this. What the hell kind of a heir was he?! Everyone was dying on HIS watch!]

[Gil can tell, but he's not going to comment on it. Having a dream like that must be horrible.]

...It's just a dream, Elliot.

[It definitely didn't feel like a dream. It felt pretty real while he was there, and that's what terrified him.]

[It can't possibly be true. Because if it was, it meant that Elliot was the only biological Nightray child remaining, and Gilbert knew it would crush him.]

That's not going to happen, right?

[Thank goodness he knew Gilbert couldn't see him. Eliot brought one of his hands up to thread in his hair.]

Then why did I even see it?! Why did it feel the same as the rest of the dream?! All of the rest of it already happened! It shouldn't have felt that real!

It's not real. It's a dream. Do you want it to be real, damn it -

[Yeah, that's the right way to calm him down. However, after he yells, there's a long silence, like he's really hesitating... Why was he reacting like this?! If it was just a dream, he should just be brushing it off! He didn't even understand why he was doubting it so much. He had only experienced this in a dream once before, and that one was nothing in comparison.]

Elliot...Vanessa's fine, I'm sure of it.

[He couldn't respond to that. Gilbert had a point. He didn't want the dream to be real at all, but no matter if it was a dream, or real, how could he let anything happen to Vanessa?

He couldn't keep reacting this way. This was his adopted brother he was talking to. He was still the heir of the family. The way he was responding to this was just disgraceful.]
