Sounds about right-Severus would feel very out of place and sorts to get started as Headmaster, but I like knowing that the elves are on top of things and that the kids are smart enough to be walking in pairs and groups. This is not the time to be alone at Hogwarts. It's too bad Severus has to walk alone, but then, the fact that he does is one of the reasons we love the bastard.

What a sad start for the new school session. I felt like crying… not a single new Griffindor. I’m sure Minerva is troubled over this, and I don’t imagine Severus feels any better.

Severus must feel cut off from everyone, even if the other Professor’s are not directly mouthing off about him in front of his face. I am sure Minerva is aware of so much more than ever was revealed and hope she did watch Severus’s back a little.
