Week 24

Sep 27, 2010 20:35

This Wednesday will be week 24. That means, our baby will technically be viable outside of the womb, and his brain waves have taken a characteristically human quality. That's pretty cool. He's basically a real human now, we just have to wait for him to grow a bit more.

Theresa's really starting to walk like a pregnant woman now. Theresa says the baby is really starting to feel heavy. That may be an issue this weekend since we're heading to Walt Disney World for four nights. We wanted to take one last vacation before the baby comes and I've never spent much time at Disney World. Also, it's going to wind up being pretty affordable because of various discounts and stuff I get. Also, bonus, it turns out to be the weekend of the Disney World marathon, so Seema will be there. Unfortunately Theresa can't go on most of the fun rides, and we're not sure how much walking she'll be up for, but we're staying at the Animal Kingdom hotel, so we'll be able to take lots of breaks.

Over the last couple of weeks we've been working on the nursery. I've been painting dinosaur feet on the walls and this weekend I started painting dinosaurs. Theresa posted some pictures on facebook if anyone's interested in seeing what it looks like.

Theresa's morning sickness has gotten a lot better, but she has to pee even more often now. She also has been getting a lot of heartburn. We haven't felt anything that we're sure is the baby moving yet, but we will soon.

Tonight we bought an infant car-seat. We got it from someone on craigslist. It was a bit dusty, but otherwise very clean and in great shape. It took us a while to figure out how to install the base in the car, the little hooks for the infant seat are kind of hard to find in the Rav4. We also found a stroller we really like this weekend. It's the the Baby Jogger City Mini. It feels like a good balance of affordability, some ability to go over rough surfaces, and weight. And it has the best folding mechanism of any stroller we've looked at. Probably no one not actively searching for a stroller cares about any of that, but somehow it was very satisfying to find a stroller we really liked.
