Yeah, I'm in row B seat 44, so...I'm pretty much it for Row B. It sucks on two fronts, because not only are you so far away that you might as well be in silver, but if they only have a line of questions from along the wall on the other side, all you'll ever see of the guys is their profile. From far away.
In Chicago 07, they tried to counter that by having two lines of questions, and the guys alternated taking a question from every other side. But this last time, they said they could only take questions on one side, and even though they asked the guys to try to look to those of us on the right too....you know, it didn't work out that way. They tried, bless them, but I think they also want to actually *look* at the people who are asking the question when they're answering them, which I understand. You don't want someone to get up there, ask you a question, and then you look way on the other side of the room while answering them, ya know?
If the set up is going to be like this(with A-Aisle, and S-Seat):
........................ Guest ...........
A S1-11 A S12-22 A S23-33 A S34-44 A
Then they either need to have people line up for questions in the center aisle(the one I bolded--although that doesn't really help us in the last section, since we're still looking at a profile) or better yet have people line up in two aisles (the ones I put in italics) and have the guest alternate taking questions from each line--that way, they're getting a chance to look to each side, we can maybe get pictures of something other than the side of their faces, and they still have three empty aisles (one along each wall, and the center aisle) to satisfy the fire marshall.
And since those of us in the sections along the wall will probably have a cruddy view, I totally think we should totally get to be first to pick out our breakfast seats! LOL!
I think the solution at the Chicago 07 con was pretty good! We were sitting more on the left end of a row, but with the questions being asked from both sides, we got to see the boy's faces... and you know, not only the back of their heads! (although they are pretty as well.... uhm okay, sorry, getting off topic here) *lol*
ANYWAY... I do understand that with 45 seats in a row, it's logical to split everything in 4 rows. Personally, I wouldn't be fond of crawling over 20 ppl to get to my actual seat, (and I'm sure those 20 ppl would appreciate it as well *g* ) But I don't know, although the room is overall broader than at the previous venues, they should have left the system like it's always been... 30-34 seats a row... and just put more rows in.

I'm actually hoping that if they decide to do two-sided questions, that they let ppl line up along each wall, b/c with ppl lining up in the middle aisles, they will block the view for the rows further in the back, and for pretty much all ppl sitting close to the aisles.
And since those of us in the sections along the wall will probably have a cruddy view, I totally think we should totally get to be first to pick out our breakfast seats! LOL!
LOL Oh I absolutely agree with you there lol I don't think it will happen, but man, that'd be quite nice :D
That's true--the walls would be the best place to line up, but in Chicago this year they were saying something about not being able to do that because the fire marshall determined it was a fire hazard. I'm guessing that's because if people lined up on both sides, exits on both sides of the room would then be blocked. I'd guess that would kinda be the case at every event, but it would depend on how the hotel is set up I guess. If the room is situated where you can enter from the back ) then you probably will be able to line up along both sides, but if you enter from the side of the room like they did this year, they probably won't let it happen.
Maybe they'll angle the last sections toward the stage, like in that picture on the hotel website. At least then we won't have to sit sideways. Because in 07 I was in like seat 32, and we had to sit sideways in the seats to see the stage.
ETA: Looks like the ballroom does have entrances to the back, so hopefully they'll allow people to line up on both sides, and not just one.
