Sam with his broken psyche is, once again, the weak one- who needs a strong hand. Despite any progress that may have been made in Season 5 towards Dean treating Sam like an equal- we see from Unforgiven onward that Dean is once again the boss of the relationship, by necessity, and getting redemption for the things Soulless did is not on the list. The real truth about Sam and Dean is that when it comes down to it, all that they have is each other. They both hurt each other, and they both live with each other, flaws and all. Dean has hurt Sam, by word and deed, just as Sam has hurt Dean. Tough cookies. It's over now. Time to move on and deal with new things in their lives.
