Sam is no longer human, he is now a supernatural being, something he became while in hell and in the last rounds of YED's plans to make Sam that soldier needed for the 'end game'. Sam has super powers of the supernatural nature and the scene with him watching Dean be turned into a vampire was just him ecstatic that his big bro is finally going to be able to join him on his mission of whatever. Two brothers bound by blood, now bound by supernatural blood, saving people, hunting things, the family business! Sam the boy king and Dean the vampire, driving the back roads of America/Canada in the impala and ripping shit up! Bad company all the way baby!
