I can't recall if I've ever gotten political on this blog, but there's a first time for everything. Without giving my own views away (which are known to my friends, in any event), this has been--and will continue to be--a stunning election. They're saying the turnout of registered voters may exceed the last record in 1960 (66%), which I think is a pretty handy measure of the historicism of this election. As it turns out, even the 2004 election had the highest turnout since 1968; may this election be the sign of a more politically-saavy age to come.
