Charlie watched the rain fall gently on the window; it’s misty filter making everything look soft, hazy and misshapen. He was secretly happy; rain outside meant baseball would be cancelled and he could stay at his Dad’s for a few more hours.
He turned around in time to watch his Dad softly brush the hair back from Danny’s forehead as he lay peacefully on the couch; watched Dan reach up to brush the back of his hand down his Dad’s cheek. He was secretly happy that everything inside was in sharp focus; clearly defined. Love falling softly all around them.
