Parsley

One of my colleagues gave me a tiny parsley plant so my basil could have a friend. My little sprouts shall be quite happy. In the coming weeks I am going to plant some poppies, lavender, and moonflowers. Yesterday I got a hanging basket, which adds little bursts of color to our the patio area, peach and purple stars. Sean is planting tomatoes, peppers, and some lettuce. I want to go to the nursery before too long to procure more soil and perhaps a couple of ferns and some impatiens (or some type of flower that thrives well in the shade). I really wanted a pot of pink Gerber daisies but they require much sun, at least more than we are afforded in our backyard. I am so excited to have a garden, no matter how minute it may be.

The submission of my research paper on Saturday evening marked the conclusion of the semester. Sean and I went to Primo's for celebratory sandwiches & beer, then biked about twenty-six miles yesterday. Something still feels unfinished, even though I have done all of the required coursework and already received a final exam grade in my art class. Provided my English professor gives me an A on the last project, I am slated to make it on the Dean's List again. And maybe this time I will feel like I actually deserved it.
