So I never wrote an entry about how Lion King was. All I can say is…WoW!!! It was amazing! I had one of the best times, EVER! The whole play, from beginning to end has you entertained w/ colors and music and animals. It was just…wow! I really enjoyed myself b/c the play had so much of the movie in it, but also had such a sense of realism, like it was about the humans, not just the animals. All the costumes were so insanely intricate and authentically African-looking. They made sure to keep the human exposed even though it was supposed to be portraying an animal/plant. All of the scenery/backgrounds and music were so important to the whole mood of the play, it was really well done. I enjoyed every last minute of it and didn’t even realize when the time went by!
They appealed to the adult audience and had so many jokes that the little kids could get, it just rocked my socks! On a scale of 1-10, I give it a 20! =D My favorite scenes were the ones where it was the part where Nala and Simba meet again and the whole “Can You Feel The Love Tonight“ thing comes on. They had all kinds of colors and flowers dancing around. There were 3 couples who were dressed up as vines and flowers and they did these ballet-type dances really close together, (which I assumed symbolized the whole “sexual” connection between the 2 lions) I also really liked the scene where Simba finds Rafiki (who in the play is played as a female, instead of a male role, I thought that was interesting) and Rafiki brings him to the water to see the reflection of himself as his father. They had a star-lit background (you know me and stars! Haha) and it is all dark, but you can see pieces moving around (obviously, people dancing around holding these pieces on sticks) and eventually, when Mufasa is supposed to appear, all those pieces come together to form the face of the lion in the sky. It was simply remarkable! Me and my mom were like *jaw drop* OMG, it was so awesome! I wish I could‘ve taken pictures. *SiGH* I wanna go back! =)
Buuuut! Disney on Ice is supposed to be going on sale pretty soon, I think I’m going to hafta go to that. Someone give me the magical numbers to buy a Lotto ticket, so I can win the lottery and be able to buy anything and everything I want! Actually… the other day when I was @ work I had like 4 customers who I had to give the same exact change to…$3.01. Really random and coincidental! I mentioned that to like the last customer w/ that same exact figure and she was like “Hmm…maybe it’s an omen, you should go buy a lottery ticket!” It was interesting…
On another note, I’m kinda of upset b/c I was supposed to go see Austin tonight since him and Leash are leaving for L.A. tomorrow morning and he hasn‘t called me back. I want to go to bed b/c I am absolutely p00ped from work and going to San Jose/Morgan Hill and now kinda wish I hadn’t gone b/c I guess yesterday a huge group of my friends got together to say bye to Austin and I was like the missing link! =( Oh well…I think I will just hafta go to bed and see them…someday.
