Day 7 of Olympics

Feb 19, 2010 12:04

Last night, I got tickets to the Men's free long program. Honestly, it didn't feel any different from normal competition like World championships and 4 Continents. Been to both and the Olympics felt like any other competition.  I must say there were a lot of people.  Fans from all over the world came to watch the event. That's the only difference it had.

There were quite a lot of Japanese fans. They were really enthusiastic and very supportive of the Japanese skaters (Daisuke Takahashi, Nobunari Oda and Kazuka Takahiko).

Pic of Japanese fans carrying a flag of Daisuke's university.

There were also a lot of American fans. But it's weird that I didn't notice them as much until Lysacek of US came out to skated and won the gold medal.

The skating was good but it wasn't as good as the short program.

Here is me in the Pacific Coliseum before the Long Program started. Please excuse my ugly and tired face. it was a long day yesterday.

A lot of falls and one costume malfunctioned. But all in all, it was an experience of a lifetime!

Let's start with Patrick Chan.

He had a good skate but he fell in one of his jump. His artistry and component kept him up on the the board. He ended up in 5 place.

Nobunari Oda is the one with the costume malfunctioned.  He shoe lace came loose and had to stop the his skate midway through to tie it up again.  He had a -3 deduction for it .

Evan Lysacek has an incredible skate. He did all of his jumps and this artistrity components were top notch. He pretty much had his skate of his life

Nobunari Oda is the one with the costume malfunctioned. His shole lace came loose and had to stop his skate midway through to re-tie his skate up again. He had a -3 deduction.

Next up is Stephane Lambiel. He had a pretty good skate too. I think he fell on one of his jumps and then he also didn't do  the Axel jumps. He ended up in 4th place.

Daisuke Takahashi had a wonderful skate. I was hoping that he would had a perfect skate but alas he fell on one of his jumps.

Daisuke with his many Japanese fans supporting him !!

Johnny Weir came up next and he wowed the crowd. Did all of his jump except he downgraded his quad at the start of his program. My friend and I was surprised he ended up in 6th place.

Plushenko is the last skater. I thought he skated his program perfectly. I think he was the only one who did a quad jump.  But his component was the thing that wasn't as powerful as Lysacek. I think it's why he ended up in 2nd place.

Ok, gotta go. Will be going to downtown today and take pics of the Olympics flame and check out the free stuff that is happening there!!
