OW WTF!?

So, I'm sitting here typing this one-handed, because at about 10 pm tonight my right elbow decided excruciating pain was a good idea.  After said pain failed to go away and one instance of trying to use my arm nearly made me pass out, I thought a taxi up to the ER just might be a good idea.

Ouch! I've had good luck with the cortisone shot, so hopefully it'll work for you.

Hooray for Vicodin, though :)

My arm is somewhat better. (I can use my hand! Yay!) But I am taking it easy and continuing to use a sling until it's all better.

Good thing I happen to have two days off of work anyway. I should be fine functional* by Thursday as long as I'm careful.

*Correcting for stupid machismo. Stupid machismo is stupid, yet so very hard to get rid of.

I, too, have had tennis/library elbow. It sucks.

The thing that worked best for me longterm was not just the drugs (although drugs are good) but physical therapy; ask if your doctor/health plan covers it.

Yeah, I'm going to be looking into that. As well as trying to figure out what part of my job got me in the first place.

In my case -- your mileage SO may vary! --- I tracked it down after many years to my habit of leaning on my chair armrests while typing. Once I took the armrests off my chair, the tendinitis mostly vanished. Try, if you can, changing your typing posture.
