OW WTF!?

Dec 06, 2010 01:16

So, I'm sitting here typing this one-handed, because at about 10 pm tonight my right elbow decided excruciating pain was a good idea.  After said pain failed to go away and one instance of trying to use my arm nearly made me pass out, I thought a taxi up to the ER just might be a good idea.

A bit of waiting, an examination, and x-rays (not fun to get) and...

I have tennis library elbow.  Whee.  I am also hopped up on Vicodin, which is why I'm not asleep. ( Isn't that stuff supposed to make you sleepy?  I've apparently also turned into Miles Vorkosigan. )  So I get to go get a cortisone shot instead of going to work tomorrow - just as soon as I work out the logistics of doing so with my right arm in a sling.  Clearly, I will not be driving myself.  (My car is a stick-shift.)  I also have to pick up prescription pain and anti-inflammatory meds.  Guess I'll be calling friends for assistance.

I am also in a strangely good mood.  I'm not sure whether that's to Vicodin, the music I was listening to in the ER, my weird sense of humor, or some combination of all three.

I will now be cheerfully watching Simon & Simon until sleepiness decides to make a visit.

*goes off humming with the occasional Ow! interrupting*

EDIT:  The world is designed for people with two fully working arms!  This sucks!  (Yes, disabled people can throw things at me for not realizing just how much this is true until now.)
