From Mugglenet.com:
The Literary and Historical Society of University College Dublin will present JK Rowling with a James Joyce Award on Tuesday 12th February in the college. We'll have more on this soon.
OMG.
JK Rowling in DUBLIN.
I begged my mother to come with me and she flat-out refused, then suggested that Aoife and I could go. What a brilliant idea. What a totally amazing, awesome idea.
I don't know if Aoife would be up for it, but she's mad for Harry Potter. And UCD is the university she wants to go to.
*plots*
It said on the UCD website that tickets will be available free to UCD students on Monday. I don't know anyone in UCD who could get them for us, and I don't think Aoife does either. But whatever, we could just stand outside and jump up and down and stuff.
I know I'm getting ahead of myself here. I can't even begin to imagine the crowds that might turn up. But it would be such an adventure! It would be so amazing just to see JK.
I shall phone Aoife tomorrow and see what she thinks, anyway.
Having a lie-in this morning was weird. I'd wake up, turn over and immediately fall asleep again and have the weirdest dreams. This pattern of waking up, turning over and dreaming went on and on. At one point I dreamed Oscar was lying at the end of my bed, and when I woke up I didn't know where he was.
I gave Molly a good brushing today and she is literally half the dog.
I finally finished Abarat by Clive Barker and have moved on to Twilight, which Aoife got me for my birthday.
My mother and I watched the Mona Lisa Smile.
I can't stop thinking about Whale Rider. I must really like films about that sort of culture - I own Rabbit-Proof Fence, which is about the Aboriginals in Australia, and Whale Rider is about the Maoris in New Zealand,
Checked the Mugglenet comments. Already a few people are planning on going. Uh-oh...
freaky dreams,
