Movies!

One more reason I am  freak:

It's not just that writing is my best section of the SATs. I also find field hockey exciting. I watched two games all the way through, and caught as much of the Fallston game as I could, working around forensics. It's inspiring when Laura Karman breaks away and dribbles all the way down the field, or when Kelsey drives it, or Chrissy makes a pad-save...man. It's partially that I listen to Laura  and Julie talk about it all during German, I guess.

Anyway.
Carolyn hosted an amateur movie night on Friday. We didn't get to watch Gatsby, because I only had it on CD, not DVD. Oh, well. I got to see From Scrubs and Sparkles, which was for drama last year, and we we all relived the wonderful moments of Where the Heart Is.

We watched our AP Euro movie too. It seems ages ago now that we made that. Everyone was so confused by Dani/Trotsky  running around her backyard/Mexico and getting shot/killed with an ice ax.

The school's almost finished now. Almost. At that point, I took footage of the torn-down old cafeteria to use for wreckage scenes in our movie. Now, music rooms and a retaining wall are there. I remember that we filmed the Munich conference on my sixteenth birthday. There was this pile of Hostess cupcakes on the table when Neville Chamberlain agreed to give the Sudetenland to Hitler. Then when there was a surprise round of "happy birthday" after the scene, I was confused because I hadn't even noticed.

It's weird to do projects like that; I wind up spending so much time with my partners, kind of like with the Nat Turner Seminar now. Although, it was really just chance that I wound up spending the night with Sammy and then this afternoon working with her and James. But I don't hang out with Jenny and Dani much anymore. Psh, orch dorks. I should catch a volleyball game sometime.

And when Stalin/Sarah collectivized a Ukrainian/Emily's farm, I wondered how she was doing. This afternoon, i found a letter that i thought I'd sent her this summer. I'd always send them to my home friends from CTY, and I sent them from college-trip this year instead. But I never sent Sarah's, apparently. So I'm going to get that in the mail.
