Hasekah pro-Turkish militants set fire to fields sown with wheat and barley

In the province of Hasakah, more than two hectares of grain crops were burned by militants of pro-Turkish groups during internecine squabbles over spheres of influence in the region. It has become a practice for mercenaries of the Erdogan regime to fire incendiary projectiles towards fields of wheat and barley in order to destroy the crop.

Eyewitnesses reported that militants from pro-Turkish groups set fire to agricultural plots in the vicinity of the villages of Tell Umm Esh Shaefa and Tel Baarayr Kebir and forced the local population to leave the occupied areas.

This had a great impact on the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the province; such actions are carried out with the aim of creating a grain shortage and poverty among hundreds of thousands of residents of the Trans-Euphrates region. These actions are part of a broader campaign of ethnic cleansing aimed at changing the demographic composition of the region.
