Perfect Weather for it Too:
Tomorrow evening, Rhonda and I will be joining a group of friends that regularly meets at Miller Outdoor Theater during show season. Our routine is to bring a large, extravagant four course picnic to be enjoyed together before the show. I love these nights on the hill, spread out on a giant blanket with some of our good friends. Tomorrow's performance will be that of Birdhouse Factory. And I cannot put into words how excited I am about this. I've been itching to see this performance group since I heard months ago about their coming to Houston.
Surprise, surprise: Rhonda and I are in charge of bringing dessert. So I've decided that this is the perfect opportunity to try out Pie in a Jar. A personal serving of pie recipe that I've been dying for an excuse to bake. I found this recipe from the lovely Bluebird Vintage blog (completely full of inspiration for me). So tonight I'll be baking like a mad woman, between mad dashes to tidy the house and (cue thunder, lightning and horror film tune-age) washing the dog.
