Personality:
Gokudera is brash, loud, violent, and foul-mouthed. He has very little patience, is very easy to anger and is quick to jump to conclusions. When it matters though, he can be calm and cool-headed too, but that’s only usually when he has already failed to simply solve the problem. Only one person can make him behave, and that’s Tsunayoshi Sawada. He considers even the slightest bad remark to Tsuna a major insult, no matter who it is or where they are. He gets pissed off/jealous at most people who come close too Tsuna.
There are very few people Gokudera considers worthy of his respect, and he talks back even to his teachers. He refuses to take crap from anyone either, even if he knows that they are stronger than him. The only person he can’t look straight in the eye is his sister Bianchi, because he gets sick at the full sight of her face, a reaction born from a ‘trauma’ in his childhood that he is ashamed of but can’t quite control.
Canon Background:
We first see Gokudera come into the series as an unwitting oriental half-breed called to Japan by Reborn to test Tsuna in his (unwanted) journey to become Vongola Decimo as a challenge to his position. Instead he ended up being saved from his own bombs by the other boy and pledged his loyalty to Tsuna. As it turned out, Reborn didn't really think Gokudera was suited to be a candidate for Vongola Decimo.
Gokudera's loyalty to Tsuna is soon tested when the Kokuyo Gang start attacking students, using a list that gave them the names of the strongest students in Namimori. Gokudera ranked third, and was attacked by Kakimoto Chikusa. During the attack, Tsuna interrupted them and Chikusa was quick to realize that Gokudera was part of the Vongola, using Tsuna as a target decoy in order to get to Gokudera, forcing him to dive into the attack. He later fought Chikusa again after being healed by Doctor Shamal and was able to free Hibari - who was being held captive. He became possessed by Mukuro, though was incapacitated by Tsuna.
Not too long after this, Hayato was forced into the Ring Battles, a fight which left him without much choice but to turn to Shamal for help in training. Shamal turned him down however, though he decided to take him under his wing after seeing Gokudera literally beating himself up. Gokudera faced off against Belphegor of the Varia for the position of Storm Guardian, but ultimately lost. When Tsuna was busy fighting Xanxus in the final battle, Gokudera went to gather the other Guardians, cured from the poison by Hibari and defeating Levi A. Than, curing Lambo and Ryohei. Later, he and the Guardians forced the remaining Varia to surrender.
Transported ten years into the future, Gokudera was the first one to light his Vongola Ring with his flame and defeat one of the Black Spell, later being trained by Lal Mirch on how to use the weapons properly. Going to Namimori Shrine with Yamamoto to follow a lead, they were attacked by Gamma who Gokudera initially took on alone, refusing to work with Yamamoto until the other quite literally knocked some sense into him. Even after they joined together however, they were unable to defeat Gamma and were saved by the Future Hibari. After recovering, Gokudera began training with Bianchi who gave him the Sistema C.A.I that his future self had been working on, figuring it out on his own rather than with Bianchi's help.
He later joined the others in the invasion of Melone Base, only to be tied up by Ryohei when they encountered Gamma in order to prevent him from rushing in. Though Ryohei was defeated, Gokudera in turn defeated Gamma thanks to his newfound power in Sistema C.A.I. After the failed invasion, he trained Lambo and a newly arrived TYE Ryohei to use the Rings and Boxes. He was chosen as a participant in Choice but had his box weapons rendered useless by Kikyo. While they were escaping, Gokudera used a Storm Missile to damage the teleport system, buying them time. He was later hurt while trying to save Yuni. During the final day of battle, he disobeyed Tsuna and worked with Lal Mirch and Gamma to act as first line of defense. The Vongola eventually defeated Byakuran and returned to the past.
Now in the past, Gokudera took an interest in Shitt P, a transfer student from Shimon Middle High School, believing her to be an Unidentified Mysterious Animal and began to keep track of her movements. After Tsuna was attacked, he took it upon himself to make sure that Tsuna was safe and set everyone guard positions to patrol Namimori.
Background (AU!Canon; HP):
Before he was born, Hayato's mother Lavina was not only a beautiful up and coming pianist in the muggle world, but also a pureblood witch. It was said that she could charm any man she wanted with a few simple strokes of the piano keys. His father, a wealthy and well known businessman in the muggle world in Sicily, fell in love with her when he attended one of her recitals. Not long after, they became involved and Lavina bore a child. However, because of his father's status, he couldn't let it be known that he had an illegitimate child and everyone was told that the boy was from the same mother as his legitimate daughter, Bianchi.
His real mother was allowed to see him up to three times a year until he was three, when she was killed after driving off a cliff on her way to see her son. It was his birthday, something she had been looking forward to and even had a present for young Hayato. Hayato himself was unaware of what had happened up until he was eight and overheard some servants gossiping, after which he fled the mansion the next day, fed up with the lies and being used as a test subject for his sister's potions skills.
Hayato made his way across Italy via Knight Bus, eventually finding and attaching himself to a muggleborn wizard named Shamal. Shamal - a flirt of a Healer - actually knew Hayato's mother in their school years and knew it was her child due to the fact that the boy had his mother's looks. Deciding he couldn't very well let Lavina's child go living out on the streets, Shamal bought him an apartment, refusing to get directly involved with the kid other than this because it would hurt his image, but checked up on him every now and then. In many ways, Shamal became a father figure, and Hayato even went as far as to copy his hairstyle.
How would your character fit in to each House?
Gryffindor: Gokudera on first glance seems like he'd fit right into Gryffindor House. He's courageous and loyal, but his brash and violent attitude sometimes gets in his way of seeing what's truly important - his own life. Sometimes it takes a hard lesson for him to remember that his own life as well as the lives of those around him are precious.
Hufflepuff: For most of his life, Gokudera has had to work hard to get to be where he is today, but his personality does not permit him to be tolerant of others who he deems unworthy of his respect. Gokudera doesn't believe in fair play and uses tricks in his attacks, an example would be how in canon he used mini bombs to trick Chikusa into a trap by combining them with larger bombs.
Ravenclaw: Having had a multitude of private tutors as a child, Gokudera is quite intelligent. He excels in his schoolwork and aces all his tests despite his image of a rebel. He also bases a lot of his thinking and academic prowess on the mathematical theories that he develops himself. He knows at least one Shinto chant and is interested in UFO’s and his favorite magazine is the monthly The Wonders and Mysteries of the World. He even has a list of legendary creatures to see before he dies.
Slytherin: Although in many ways Gokudera is ambitious, his ambitions are usually not for himself but for the sake of those around him, even though his main ambition in canon is to become Tsuna's right hand man. Gokudera also has a lot of cunning and is extremely resourceful, though he himself lacks the ability to lead others.

Hayato rubbed at his head as he set the book down in front of him, yawning a little as he felt his pony tail swipe at the back of his neck. Uri was curled up on the table near him. He had a multitude of scratch marks across his arm, suggesting that she had been toying with the quill he was writing with before deciding she'd had enough and ended up napping instead. The library was usually Hayato's favourite place to study, but today there seemed to be a rather noisy group to one section of the room.
Looking up from his notes, he sent a glare from behind his glasses at the group, willing them to shut up as his cheek twitched in annoyance. Girls. How annoying. He was almost tempted to move but he had been there before they arrived. This was his territory, damnit, and he wasn't going to be defeated that easily.
As time went on, it soon became evident that the girls were holding some kind of meeting as the group became bigger and louder. Hayato leaned his head on his hand, teeth grinding with his nerves as he watched them giggle. Women were weird creatures, weirder than most of those Hayato was fascinated with. They kept on looking over at him as well, with secretive smiles as they whispered behind their hands to each other. Tapping his quill against the desk, the silver-haired male gave one final grind of his teeth before he placed his hands on the desk. "WILL YOU IDIOTS JUST QUIT IT WITH THE GIGGLING?!" he yelled, glaring in their direction before he paused, realizing something.
He'd just woken Uri from her nap.
