after a five hour bus trip along the coast with the adriatic sea on one end, and mountains on the other - and travelling for 5 minutes within bosnian territory, i am back in croatia - but this time Dubrovnik. I climbed these really tall old city walls and walked around the city on top of the walls. it was easy at first.. .but then got scarier the higher we went.. but i did it by self :) then i wandered the old town a little bit and went into a couple of museums and cathedrals...that were slighty more expensive than what my guidebook said.. but i guess thats natural. now ićm just relaxing at an internet cafe and soon to head out to dinner with one of the girls that was in my room when i was in Split. she left to dubrovnik on a bus 2hours later than me and staying at a different hostel - so we decided to meet for dinner.
i didnćt really write about my day in split - so i'll write about that now.
lets see - yesterday i woke up around 10 am and walked around the old city in split - saw some ancient roman ruin, diocletians palace and such. then i went west towards the harbor and up marjans hill.. which is this forest park on the giant hill with great views of the city, mountains, and harbor. around 5 pm headed back to the hostel and chilled with all these cool people that were staying there. mostly australians, 1 crazy funny and stereotypically drunk irish guy who works doing something for music festivals, bars, and radio.. or atleast that what i got out of it with his accent. and there were a couple of americans too. the americans were the quietest of the bunch haha. Australians are pretty friendly in a quiet sort of way. so we were up till about 11 chatting and eating and drinking outside on the patio of the hostel.. then some headed to the bar.. but i opted to sleep since i was waking up early to head to dubrovnik.
time for dinner.! next stop Mostar, Bosnia tomorrow night!
