worse then I thought. Out of sheer perverseness, I decided to cruise ff.net for any Byakuya/Renji fics I could read. I found one that looked promising and began reading it. After reading the first paragraph and a half, I went to see if the author was from another country. There were that many misused words. My jaw dropped when I read that not ( Read more... )

Yeah it's rough out there. The good writers are taking a break and the newbies are trying out their wings. However, do not despair. All you have to do is write something and post it and inspire all those novice souls to do a better job :-)

I tell everyone, I'm a reader not a writer. If everyone is writing there's no one to read. My thing is if you are going to put it out there, no one says it has to be perfect, but at least proof it first and if your command of the language is flawed, don't volunteer to be a beta.

Oh - I didn't know that. Yes, we do need readers :-) My efforts would be pointless if nobody was interested in what I wrote.
About language, yeah. That's why I have a beta :-)

I would hope your beta knows the difference between through and threw at the very least.

The art on the icon is courtesy of Storm on DJ. My beta is Tylashke, who keeps me honest :-) Is Tyl on you f-list? Some nice fic coming from those skilled hands...

What's even worse? When writers only use 'Byakuya' and 'Renji' as name place holders while they write what has to be original characters, because everything about the guys in their fic is extremely OOC.

But yeah, the Pit is oftentimes a painful experience. :P

Yeah...they are welcome to screw with *other* characters, but not with Byakuya and Renji :-P

Speaking if screwing with those two...any action on the flash fic? It has potential, you know. Few more entries and we can edit the whole mess and we could post it on ff.net and have some fun with it :-)
