I hurt

On top of everything else, this genius here, made no effort to stretch or warm up before moving heavy furniture, and injured my back on Thursday.

Which i realised about three overs into my six over spell on Saturday. To keep from making it worse by running around the field and jarring it further, i cleverly elected to take the gloves and do the crouching / star-jump thing as wicketkeeper behind the stumps. Which did at least keep me constantly moving and meant that i didn't cool down. Of course, not having done it for a fair while, my thighs and knees weren't very impressed.

How i rode home, i'm not entirely sure.

By the time Filthy arrived to take me to the Association dinner, i was struggling to move anywhere, and despite self-medication, and a few stiff drinks, i sat through the proceedings in some significant pain. And then i had to hobble up through the crowd to stand around like one o'clock half struck, while holding the special "Webko" trophy while the winner waffled on. At least i won a signed Sydney Sixers bat in the raffle.

Sunday i couldn't get out of bed, and had to piss in an old ice cream tub. Delightful.

Monday, with the assistance of painkillers, and a 90 minute massage, i was able to get around and do some more work on the house.

Tuesday, i was roused from my bed by Dr.T (giving her a key was genius), with a helpful firm hand and another short massage. I went back to the house and did the same again, and with the help of Cricket Santa and Snacks, got almost everything done and transported back to my house. Tuesday was highlighted by a late night visit from mbg, who ate ice cream with me, made me smile, and worked on my back for a good 45 minutes.

Wednesday, i was going nowhere, back to being unable to move much for most of the day, despite painkillers. I did make it out for dinner and to look at the lunar eclipse, which was nowhere near as exciting as advertised.

It's been four days, and i'm *already* sick of being bloody crippled again.

When can i get a break? Please?
