As some of you may know Leopard has thrown a curve ball to Mac theming. Shapeshifter the premiere theming application in Tiger and below hasn't materialized for Leopard yet. So far we are stuck with manually replacing system and application resource files. For basic stuff this works but for more advanced stuff like dark themes it doesn't really ( Read more... )

There seems to be quite the hullabaloo on rumors about the next revision of Mac OS X which is rumored to be called "Snow Leopard". ( Continued inside... )

I saw this screenshot at Macthemes.net and I am intrigued. It looks like Anubis has been theming Leopard. I'm guessing he turned off CoreUI (the new theme) and themed the standard extras.rsrc files. Some person at macthemes said it looks more like he customised 10.4 and used LigerDock but there's a hole in that theory. The LigerDock doesn't have ( Read more... )

I don't have Leopard yet but I figured I'd try my hand at a Leopard icon anyway for the Application "PalaceChat". The icons on Leopard are 512x512. This could also be used to make a Windows Vista icon as the max size there is 256x256. I haven't made it into an .icns file (OS X) or an .ico file (Windows) though because I don't have an appropriate ( Read more... )

I found out that in the final\release built of Leopard the transparent menubar only works if you have a core image capable graphics card. So Mac's like mine that have a Radeon below 9600 get an opaque menubar. It's because the menubar is not only transparent but it also applies a filter to the wallpaper below like, multiply or something in layers ( Read more... )

I'm a little jealous of those people who already have Leopard. Especially those who are running the GM build. It makes me a little anxious to get it myself.... although I can't afford to buy it right now and like I said I would like to get it when theming is available for it. Mac Rumors is saying that Apple has changed the way the dock in Leopard looks on the sides because of how people where complaining about how the shelf looks on the sides. They posted this screenshot. It still has the abbeyroad.png cross walk and the new task indicators but it looks more like the old dock but with rounded corners. People also want ( Read more... )
