Workin Out

Jan 12, 2010 12:16

So yesterday I started my pilates/kick boxing class here at work. We have a little "gym" thing in the next building over. The instructor was kind of bad but I think I will get used to how she runs things and will be able to perform better. I am used to having mirrors to watch instructors with, we have none at work.. so it's sort of difficult!

Monday: Piloxing, Wed: Workout DVD, Fri: Weight lifting.

I'm using the white dress as an excuse to start exercising, something I have WANTED to do for a long time. I'm not one of those crazy, omg I wanna be like a stick! rawr rawr.. I just want to tone up my body in general and to FEEL BETTER.

... I am always so freakin' tired...

sure enough after only 1 day of exercise my muscles are good and sore and I feel alert and happy. I have a lot more bounce in my step!

I will tell you though.. I don't care WHO you are.. there is no way to not feel like a flabby, nasty, flailing dumbass when you are in a workout class.

But you know what? you aren't there to look pretty in front of people.. you're there for your OWN SELF. Women's bodies are VERY high maintenance, and as organic beings I feel it is very important to try and keep your working machine self in good condition.

So with these thoughts in mind I flailed and wiggled and jiggled and sweated and panted my way through that annoying class.

And today I feel really good :)

Hopefully I will get addicted to exercise and desire it on a daily basis as a way to relieve stress.

but I also think mental health alongside a new fitness program is really important. Women need to learn how to talk to themselves when it comes to approaching making good choices like foods and fitness routine. You have to feel good about what you are doing or you won't continue to do it. So I listen to this mental health podcast and journal a little bit, too. Dorky, I know.. but it helps to clear up some stigmas about women's issues and fitness.

I just learned that I utterly failed at trying to spell maintenance. ....there, I did it again.. lol
