Shannon & I have finally found a house we can be happy in and that we don't have to fight with other buyers over! You can see it here. We are just waiting on the seller (who's had the house on the market for almost a full year!) to sign the final paperwork on the purchase agreement. *happy dance* I look forward to having my own space again and ( Read more... )

We have. This is house #2. We actually just sold house #1 in Prescott, WI in December. It had been rented out to a few young men for the last year once we moved to Rochester, MN. We've been renters ourselves until the house sold.

Thanks for the congrats! :)

Ah, good. Then you already know my primo advice for new homeowners, which is do all interior painting and floorcovering before moving in. Not that I've managed to do this 100% of the time....

We actually have until 3/31 until our lease is up, so we will have plenty of time to paint and get other things done first. Which is a good thing since we have a RED bedroom...I think it will be turning blue or something soothing.

Thanks Roxy! I think it will be just what we need. At least it had better be. ;)

Congrats. I reiterate what CV said about doing stuff like painting and recarpeting before moving in.

You are right. That red BR has got to become a more soothing color.

People are weird -- I bet somebody thought it was a soothing color! My sister had to paint her living room; it was barbie-pink. And Pat's daughter wanted dark green in her basement bedroom with one tiny window.

A friend actaully painted their bedroom this color when she went with a Moulan Rouge themed room. I could NEVER go for something like that myself.
Blueish gray is mych more my speed.

I cringe at the thought of dark green walls in the basement.
