In the Meantime...*

...Taking Prentiss or JJ prompts. No promises on results, I'm just looking for ideas for something to entertain me while I draft my letter to CBS. Everything in progress is too fraught right now and I'd like to write something under 20,000 words for once.

Also, thank you to goodisrelative for my alien and to forcryinoutloud, raisintorte, and wojelah for my lemurs from a couple weeks back. I ( Read more... )

Hmmm, actually I remember JJ being freaked out and suspicious of Prentiss in Revelations because she was compartmentalizing too well. I bet she tries to make up for it later? (I mean, attacked by dogs. JJ was not in her best frame of mind and would want to make up for that.) There is tons of JJ/Prentiss out there, although I've only read a little bit. JJ is...the actress got pregnant so they brought back a local LEO she'd flirted with in an earlier ep as the baby's father and alleged they'd been sneaking away on weekends to see each other, and he gave up his job and moved up to the DC area from New Orleans to be with her. And there's a scene where Garcia's looking at her new ring and she says, "It's [the baby's] birthstone. Will and I both got one." But she's wearing it on her right hand. So I think they sort of agreed to be committed and together and raise the baby together but didn't get married. My dad, of course, read that as getting married, because he has that traditional assumption thing, but the actor playing the Will shows up for funerals and parties and whatever things one would ordinarily bring a significant other to. It's nicely consistent.

Awww, I'm flattered that you read it even without context. Prentiss is sufficiently different from Elle that she's a distinct and well-rounded character, but she plays the same role - the only female profiler on the team. (Although JJ has showed herself to have some pretty mad profiling skillz at times and Hotch is all, "Come be a profiler! Take the classes!" and she's all, "Stuff it, I like my role in this team.") Rossi is a reforming jackass. ;) I love him, but his role on the team would make it really easy for him to be the character who gets written off or cut to part-time and I'd be disappointed, but I wouldn't be writing scathing letter to CBS. The best Prentiss/Rossi episode ever is "Demonology". The plot makes zero sense, but it has Carmen Argenziano (sp?) aka, Sam Carter's Dad as an evil priest which makes up for a lot.
