Rarely have I anything substantial to add. Let the pros blog, and I'll kibitz.
CPAC was fun, but do we need yet another JTP shot? )

Most muslims are moderate and very nice people. But, there is no moderate Islam. Moderate muslims cannot and will not square off with the words of the Quran. There are many many deeply embedded strategies that muslims unconsciously use to deal with the violence taught in the Quran. What these strategies are and how to deal with them go listen to Ex-muslims who have struggled to deal with the word of the Quran. Here are two sites:
www.islam-watch.org
www.faithfreedom.org
there are others as well, but whether you believe the ex-muslims or not, whether you believe Robert Spencer of jihad watch or not, you will see that the first excuse is always "out of context" for the muslims.

Islam is an evil religion. Muslims in America are a fifth column. There are no moderate Muslims; there is only taqqiya.

I, personally, think one of the best ways to develop a decent understanding of islam is to follow the news within the islamic world from the perspective of non-conforming women, non-muslims and apostates within those countries. Islam is about submission. They'll let you live as long as you accept to live in submission to islamic law. That means, for women, gender aparteid, legal wife beating, legal underage marriage, tripe tilaq divorce, circumscribed movement, dress and access to self sustaining work, and of course, accepting the authority of the husband, father, etc. to "maintain" you in islam and in accordance with islamic norms through violence and fear (per Q4:34). If you're a non-muslim, it means, never, ever, ever seeking to proseyltize a muslim, practicing your faith in a submissive, less open manner, and, per the pact of Umr, limiting your ability to build a house of worship of repair an existing one. For an apostate, it means living your truth in secrecy and never, ever openly criticising Mohammad, the Quran or islam on ( ... )

The preoblem is that the so-called "Moderate" Muslims refuse to address issues of hate and violance in their sacred writings. They pretend these things do not exists or make silly excuses for them ( ... )

If they really are "Muslims for America" then they aren't real Muslims. The best that can be hoped for is that they are "Muslims In Name Only" and are truly lapsed. Otherwise, they are fulfilling their Islamic duty to fool the powerful infidels until the time is right.

Be extremely wary. No Muhammadan can ever be fully trusted.

If 1% of the worldwide Muslims are of the radicalized variety, that still means a heck of a lot of people who want to kill and subjugate non-Muslims.

Let's see... 1% of 1.3 BILLION Muslims, that's 1.3 MILLION potential Jihadist.
