A request to the metro riders
Just a request to anyone who rides the metro anywhere really. Especially during rush hour, yes, DC does get its share of rush hour. For some reason this was a huge interest for family and friends in India, whether or not our trains get filled up, etc. They do. Of course, we don't have people hanging off the side of the trains, usually to avoid physical mutilation as the tunnels are not so wide. oh we are paranoid about safety, I know. But anyway, I digress!
Where was I? Oh yes... Especially during rush hour, please do not hog the pole by leaning up against it. We short people can't reach the horizontal bar that's usually at the height of 7ft up and since it's right by the entrance, it doesn't have the hanging thing to hold on to. So, we would need to be hanging off the pole like monkeys do to not fall off or fall onto the fellow passenger. I like monkeys and all, but hanging off the bar is not what I envision to be a comfortable ride.
It's simple really. I noticed too the ones who usually hog are the tall ones. I guess they forget that the bars are not as easily approachable for the little ones like me as it is for them.
So, don't hog!
