We skipped yesterday. There was so much going on. I went with Kathleen, her girls, and Justine to a Jumper show for an hour. They are thinking of competing there and wanted to see how it was run. Then I rand some scout errands. Visited the committee chair's lovely log home. Huge place with an gi-normous basement. Then back to Kathleens' and off to Serenity to see the Tack sale. Very disappointing, but did buy a horse cooler/stable blanket for Bourdain, off Kathleen. Too big for little Thessil. Then off to Jonathan and Alexis for the SCA Sr. Marshal's tele-conference regarding the rules. Dinner at Naan and Curry in Renton (nom, nom, nom). They have the best pankoras. some visiting, and the finally home. Whew!
But today, almost as busy. Meet up with Kathleen and Justine again to visit Lisa (Felicitae in the SCA). She broke her leg last weekend on a CMO ride (yah, the same thing I'm going on NEXT weekend.) She gave us a quick compass lesson. Brought her flowers and chatted a bit.
Ran a few more errands and then home.
Robert and Stuart were home from scouts, so Robert and Bourdain joined me for Gigi's workout.
She did a lot of evasion on being mounted. So we did a lot of standing quietly by the mounting block. Finally Rob came and held her head. Tried the riding crop thing, but only made her over compensate. Though carrying a riding crop did ensure a more energetic trot. Really don't use it, just carry it. Silly pony.
We decided we need to stretch out a bit, so went on a trail ride to the DNR land. It was a lovely ride, Gigi did a lot of trotting, which is great! We're both sore and tired. Gave her a good brush down aftewards. I have a great rubber finger curry comb that she really likes. Magic fingers for ponies. Tomorrow she'll get another rest day. Monday is scouts, so by default Pony day of rest.
I also got a scale, so now I can weigh their hay. At least with this batch, we were pretty right on with the weight.
So next week, we increment our working up to 60 minutes a day. Then the weekend is the CMO ride. We'll ride the short loops. Wish us luck!
