OK, we all know that I am a weird chick. I like to think it's part of my charm. ;-)
Or something.
Anyways, I have a couple of new obsessions which I'm totally going fan-girl over. And you cen tell I'm fan-girling because I totally over-use the word "totally". What can I say? I grew up in the 80's.
First, saw Dark Knight before it vanished from the dollar theater. *LOVED* it!!!. In fact, I have a really interesting post about madness because of it. Unfortunately, it's still only half written & likely to stay that way until after this weekend is over. I'll probably pick up the DVD for myself after I get paid on Friday so I can watch it repeatedly.
Second, I'm borrowing the Dresden Files books from GeekBro, who got them for Giftmas from Mom. I am loving them, too- so much so that I keep staying up until 1 am reading. Whoops! In fact, I'm currently writing this to kill some time in hopes that Mom will finish Book 4 so I can start it. (I think the staying-up-late-reading thing contributed to my sleep cycle going seriously out of whack over the last week, which has caused it's own nuttiness)
Third, my new favorite cult movie,
Repo! The Genetic Opera It's like the perfect mix of Sweeney Todd, Rocky Horror & Bladerunner. Seriously! If you like spraying blood, great singing, flying body parts, bizarre characters, more blood, weird distopian futures, did I mention blood? & plastic surgery disasters-- it's fabulous. Anthony Stewart Head is *wonderful*. And you just know that any movie that has the musical talents of both Ogre from Skinny Puppy & Sarah Brightman (the original Christine in Lloyd-Webber's Phantom of the Opera) is going to be a *very* cool & weird mix. I'm totally going to dress up as Blind Mag for Halloween this year.
And in other total fan-girl news-
Neil Gaiman got the Newberry Award for the Graveyard Book! Whooo-ho!!!!
