A series of unrelated thoughts:
I really should not be allowed to go to either Home Depot or the Listen Center (local equivalent of Goodwill) without accompaniment... I *always* end up with about 3 times as much stuff as I go in for.
With the purchase of a perfectly good Panasonic DVD player from the Listen Center for all of $5, I have now completed my home theater system. I love the Listen Center... I need to go there more often.
I got rejected by Penn State :-( They were one of my top choices. Oh well - I'm now 1 for 2, and still have 5 more schools to hear from. ***is anxious***
The weather's warming up! I'm really itching to go biking again! I'm already registered to do the 100-mile bike ride in The Prouty this summer, raising money for cancer research at the Norris Cotton Cancer Center. (I'll be getting e-mails out soon about that...) I was wearing my Prouty t-shirt around West Leb this afternoon and got stopped twice by people asking what route I did / would be doing. Also - tempting point about if I did the 200-mile (2-day) route: I would get a free massage from professional masseuses...
The politics of the world are so interesting sometimes. A particular event at Dartmouth recently, and hearing confirmation that my reading of what it all actually was is correct, triggered this thought. My mind is now being amused going through other Dartmouth, local, and world events and thinking about which other news items may be similar...
I originally thought that politics would just frustrate the heck out of me, but I'm starting to think that I might actually like to get involved in some governmental politics. Civil engineering may take me into some of that, but once I settle in one location a bit more, I think I may try and run for some local political positions. I could have far too much fun with this...
