california trip - day 3

Jul 24, 2007 02:30

I was planning to document my whole trip on this blog but I was still jet lagged yesterday so there’s no Day 2. And I’m usually tired by the time we get back from wherever so the updates won’t be as detailed as I would want them to be. I’ll post some pictures when I get back.

We went to San Francisco yesterday. It was really nice! We went to the Exploratorium, the Palace of Fine Arts, the Golden Gate (of course. But it was foggy so we couldn’t get a picture of the whole bridge), the Coit Tower, the Most Crooked Street and Pier 39. There was a little bit of shopping, some eating and a lot of picture-taking aka camwhoring. Hehe. We were going to go on the tour of Alcatraz but the last trip just left and it was a bit pricey (for us cheap travelers, lol-- and we were already feeling bad that my uncle and aunt has been treating us to lunch and stuff that we just said no to the tour because they might offer to pay for it). It was really busy since it was the weekend. But it was fun and interesting to see Pier 39 bustling with people.

Today, we went to the beach! It’s in Santa Cruz, CA (the Boardwalk). We just walked along the seashore and the boardwalk. And by the time we left, my skin is already red. From sun exposure, I guess. I was wearing a shirt then so I really need to go to the beach in San Diego just so I can even it out and not have my shirt as my tan line. Hehehe. We also went to Gilroy, CA, at the outlet mall there. Ahhh, heaven. If I didn’t have self-control (and thank goodness, I had some this time), I would have bought more. But maybe that wasn’t self-control. I was just being cheap because I don’t want to pay for excess baggage or buy another luggage just because I bought more than I should. I hope to go back there the next time I’m in San Jose. Next time, I will bring one empty luggage with me, lol.

Tomorrow is a day to chill for a bit. We get to sleep in and we’ll just head to the mall (I forgot what mall) after lunch. Maybe we’ll even catch a movie because we found out that it’s cheaper here (Geez, Toronto, why is everything expensive there??). Wow, tomorrow is our last day in San Jose. We’ll be leaving for San Diego on Wednesday at around 11am. We’ll be all on our own in San Diego. Kinda exciting. Wohoo, the Comic-Con! Can’t wait!! :)
