(no subject)
For the 4th of July weekend we are going to Alpena to stay at a friend's cabin. Bryan mentioned that he wanted to go camping so after we leave Alpena we're headed to Sault Ste Marie for the afternoon then on to Tahquamenon Falls for the evening. The next day we're going to Seney Wildlife Refuge then to Copper Harbor. We'll be there for 2 days then stop in Munising Falls to see the pictured rocks on the way home. I'd love love love to go to Isle Royale while we're up there but there is no way we can swing $240+ for the ferry. :( But I'm looking forward to lots of hiking and picture taking and quiet time with my favorite boys. Anything else we must see while we're in the UP? I have nothing planned while we're in Copper Harbor, except for hopefully seeing some Blessings? Tentatively we'll be there July 6-8. Originally I had planned for us to come home along the west coat, stay in Traverse City for one night, stop Silver Lake, South Haven and St Joseph before coming back home. I'd really like to go to Silver Lake Sand Dunes but perhaps we can make that a day trip another time during the summer. It's only a 3 hour drive.
Mom's making me feel guilty that we're leaving. Not intentionally but still. . . I dont like it. She asked me to watch Papa every Sunday because he no longer wants Connie around. She's been going through his stuff and cleaning and throwing things away. He's missing money and is very angry at her. When he questioned her about what she's doing in HIS room she yells at him saying he doesnt need to be so nosy or in there at all. When she's late (nearly always!) and he asks why she tells him if he doesnt like it he can find a new babysitter. Who the hell talks to their parents like that?! Anyway, Mom works every Sunday and Uncle Nick cant be there until 1pm because he has church. Teresa has to leave by 9am because she has church. Why is it ok for me not to go to church but nobody else? That really makes me mad. I told her only for the summer because after that Michael must go to church because he wants to make his first communion. As soon as we were invited to go with Aimee to Alex's cabin I told her we were going to be gone. Now I'm getting, "I dont know what I'm going to do" in regards to someone to sit with Papa. :(
My eyes are SO itchy! I hate these allergies!
Tonight are the fireworks in St Clair Shores. As it stands right now we are not going. Not unless my children do some major cleaning in the next hour and a half. We've had a very rough couple days. They've done nothing but fight. Matthew has tons of scratches and bruises all over himself because they fought instead of go to sleep last night. Michael spent most of the day in his room, even fell asleep just before dinner and was just as crabby when he woke up as he was before he fell asleep! This is crazy! I dont know what their deal is.
The dinner cruise was Wednesday night. It was very nice. I wish some of my friends would have come. It would have been so much better. Pauline couldnt afford it, Aimee wouldnt even ask Brian about going because she wanted to go to a concert later this summer and didnt think he'd do both, Cathy asked Mike and he just said no. Alysia was out of town and Tina never said whether or not she was interested in going. Oh well. Cathy watched the boys for me which is always great. They all love her and I never have to worry about them. After the cruise we had pizza and salad at Dooley's. Only 16 out of the 135 showed up. Dad was pissed. He had $600 to spend at Dooley's and only spent $100 maybe. He was also not allowed to take leftovers home or to the fire dept or anything so they only made just enough and didnt reissue another gift card for the remaining $500.
Tomorrow and Sunday we're having dinner at Pauline's. All the guys are putting together a swing set. This Wednesday we're going to Belle Isle. and Friday we leave for Alpena. I cant believe it's going to be July already! Time is just flying by.
