Pauline and I finished the 5K last today with our best time yet despite the horrible heat today. We did really well and it was rather frustrating to watch people behind us turn around before the halfway point and continue walking. Mike asked Cathy if she wanted to do the Mackinaw Bridge Walk on Labor Day. I think that would be fun for all our families to do together. The problem is finding a place to stay up there. Everything is already booked for Labor Day weekend! I dont know that my boys would want to do it. It's about 8K and is a 2 hour average walk. Plus Matthew is afraid of heights so I'm not so sure how he'd do on the bridge. For all my UP friends, what's the weather like up there around Labor Day? Any places near St. Ignace you'd recommend?
We went to Frankenmuth yesterday. We took a ride on the Riverboat for the first time. The kids liked it. Well, the older two did. Jacob wasnt crazy about it, especially the whistle. I had him in the Moby and after the whistle blew the second time (unexpectedly) he put my hand over his ear and cheek and wouldnt let me move it. The hot air balloons were gorgeous. Jacob was afraid of those too. He held onto me my shirt and kept saying "No, no, no, Jacob scared of balloons!" They were very pretty all lit up. I have some really good pictures on my phone that I'll have to figure out how to post.
