I took Matthew to the doctor this morning for a physical. He hasnt gone for one in a while. He's 50lbs! I dont know where! lol He's 3ft 11in. The doctor walked in and stopped mid-hello to tell Matthew he liked the hair. lol Nothing to really report. We talked very little about Matthew actually. lol Most of the conversation was about him leaving and how he's going to miss everyone, especially the babies he delivered and has watched grow up all this time. I'm definitely going to miss him. He's one of the best doctors the kids have seen. We did talk about Matthew's bed wetting. He suggested waking him up every night at midnight and making him go. If that doesnt work bring him back and discuss other alternatives. I asked him to take a look at Michael's hearing test. He said it's not bad at all. I told him I wanted him to tell me mild, moderate, severe and give me a percentage for hearing loss. He said definitely mild and he wasnt sure what percentage. Maybe 25%. I asked not 40%? Absolutely not! He also said that he should be retested because he was tested on a bad day because of the ear infection and it should be better than what this one says. While I was very happy to hear that I was pretty pissed at the ent for being so coercive and lying to me. He asked who we seen and got mad that they didnt send us to the right one. He said he's heard nothing but bad things about her. I told him we have an appointment with a different ent out of Children's Hospital Monday. He said he's heard very good things about this doctor but has never worked with him personally like he has the one he originally wanted Michael to see. He said the one we're going to see Monday has a very good reputation which is what I've heard from parents at school as well. So we'll see. . . I'm still really nervous.
We went to the library for a magic show this afternoon. It was great. He was absolutely hilarious though I felt parts of his act were not appropriate for children. Cathy suggested we should try getting him for one of our reading nights at school. That would be so much fun!
Yesterday we went to Metro with Cathy, Pauline & Alysia. Tina, Aimee, Heidi & another mom from school joined us. I think Aimee & Tina are the only ones that plan to join us regularly for our weekly playdates. We had a nice time. My back is burnt despite my use of sunscreen. Ouch! It's spf 55! Time to find some spf 80 I think. lol The boys didnt get a sunburn so that's good. Jacob doesnt like the water. :( We walked through the splash park and he cried so we went to sit back down. I tried again later and he started crying before we even got wet. He's not crazy about being IN the water either so that rules out swimming. Next week we go to Belle Isle. I hope we get to the zoo this summer. I'd like to see the dinosaur exhibit. Not sure what else we're planning yet.
Monday Mom called me and asked if I had seen the freezer we got from Bryan's mother. Nope. She said she didnt think I had. She said it was awful. It was covered in mold and still had food in it. :X Like I said before, it's been a good 3 years since Bryan's mother has lived in that house. How repulsive! She told me her boyfriend would clean it but it was going to cost me a case of beer. I told her no problem, I'd even bring dinner. lol I picked up steaks and potatoes and Mom had zucchini. When I got there it was clean and they were putting the shelves back in. They told me they wished they would have taken before and after pictures. I'm glad they didnt. Hearing about it was bad enough, I think had I seen what it looked like I'd never ever use it!
Sunday was Father's day and I made dinner at Dad's. I made steak and roasted red skin potatoes just like I did at Mom's. Dinner at Mom's was much better. I was trying to do too much at once at Dad's with little help. My steaks came out well done and rather dry and the broccoli was dry. The potatoes were the best part. Dad had some southwest chipotle seasoning to put on them. It was awesome! A bit on the spicy side but when topped with sour cream and fresh chives from his garden they were perfect. I used less spice on the ones I made at Mom's because I wasnt sure how spicy Papa likes his food.
Saturday we ended up not going out with Aimee. We went to the Roseville fireworks instead. I'm glad we went. Jacob cried so I just climbed back into the van with him. He watched them through the window while he nursed. Had we not gone Tony & Katherine would have walked all the way to the park with the kids rather than stay at the lot we parked in and he would have just cried through the entire thing. I dont think we'll be doing any more fireworks this year. We usually go to Mt Clemens every year. Those are Friday as are St Clair Shores. I was hoping to go to St Clair Shores. Oh well.
There was a really nice house across the street from where we parked for the fireworks. It was right on Martin and on a corner. I looked it up when I got home and they want too much for it. I wouldnt care to live on Martin anyway. lol
I better go get dinner done. It's getting late. It's way too hot out and I dont want to cook.
