i am going to japan on friday!
ahhh i am so excited!
this past weekend, when all of my mom's side of the family came for big-family-reunion, my aunt and my older cousin norman invited me to go to japan with them for a week!
i've been dying to go to japan since... forever!
but my papa had said that china was enough to overwhelm me-- so i couldn't plan any japan or korea trips like i had hoped to.
but TA-DA! God loves me and he offered me this LAST-MINUTE-OPPORTUNITY!
so bam!
mom & i just got our tickets and we will be on our way to japan in less than 72 hours.
these past few days have been pretty crammed!
- our big family dinner was great. it was dim-sum at it's maximum. afterwards, we all went to dad's school to take a tour to look at the new facilities and to get eaten by mosquitoes.
- dad also took us to watch this performance the other day... about mice and cats and how they used to be friends. It's like a semi-broadway performance for kids, but enjoyable because alums from the school were performing. my dad is uber popular with those kids. i'm almost jealous because he treats them like he treats me & fon!
- last night, i went to this boutique store that dad planned for me and tried on sooooooooo many different outfits. It was c-r-a-z-y! It was like the scene out of pretty woman when richard gere gives her $$ to go crazyshopping. It might have been more fun-- but my poor younger cousin tagged along and had to witness me trying on a bunch of clothes and seeing me flip through catalogs and watch the designers and tailors buzz around nonstop. Poor kid. I felt sooo guilty the whole time!
as for food, well... for the past few days, i've been floating on a cloud.
meals have been what i've envisoned when food @ smith sucked or when i am starving at midnight.
if you combine 5-course meals with nightmarket snacks-- then that is my idea of absolute H-E-A-V-E-N.
sharkfin soup, roasted lamb (NOT smith-cooked), filet mignon, german porkchop, creme brulee... goodness, i think im hungry again.
today, mom and i went with grandpa to the board of trustees meeting @ dad's school and witnessed what one of those god-awful-meetings were like. eee-yeew. we had delicious food afterwards though, so it might have been worth it.
at night, my jojo & joma took me to an eye doctor because my eyes have been sooooooooo itchy these past few weeks.
whatever it is-- the conclusion is that i am allergic. ALLERGIC!
i asked "to what?" and he couldn't specify.
sigh.
i might have to wear glasses in japan then.
goooood night!
p.s. i think i am so funny!
mom: i think i'm the type of person that needs more mental and packing preparation for an international trip like going to japan.
me: think about it like we're going from from LA to Hawaii instead. think ooooh-- domestic island-hopping trip!
