Yuletide 2013!

Broke down and signed up for Yuletide. I'm sure I'll probably panic when I receive my assignment, but it's always enjoyable :)

Dear Yuletide Author,

Thank you so much for writing for me! I adore all the fandoms and characters I've chosen so I'm sure I'll love whatever you create. If you'd like some general, completely optional guidelines for what I usually like/dislike in stories and potential prompts, please see below! Or if you have something already in mind, go for it!

Likes: AUs, crossovers, happy or hopeful endings, humor, hurt/comfort, teams/friends being dysfunctionally functional, ensemble cast, competence, crime solving

Dislikes: Dark fic, character death, explicit sex, infidelity

Haven: Audrey Parker, Nathan Wuornos, Duke Crocker

[The team being awesome and saving Haven from the Trouble of the week! Or really just anything with the three of them being a good team and/or good friends. I'm keeping up with Season 4 so no worries about spoilers if you want to write about anything from recent episodes.]

They finally put this up on Netflix and I mainlined the entire series over the last week and a half. LOVE it. I love Audrey and all her past and potential future selves and I love her relationships with Nathan and Duke. I enjoy the three of them in any shape or form: OT3, Audrey/Nathan with Duke always somehow getting caught up in the Trouble, gen, whatever! Interacting with the Trouble of the week is always awesome and could work with all kinds of sci-fi tropes! Or maybe they need a break from the Troubles and just go play poker on Duke's boat and banter. If you're caught up, I also really like what they're doing with season 4 and the twist at the end of New Girl.

Mulan (1998): Fa Mulan, Li Shang

[Mulan and Shang post movie. Maybe Grandma trying to encourage romance in ways that make Mulan facepalm.]

YOU DON'T MEET A GIRL LIKE THAT EVERY DYNASTY. Oh, Mulan. One of my very favorite movies. I would love anything with these two. Maybe right where the movie left off, they have mildly awkward family dinner and Grandma tries to ensure that Shang stays forever but really he doesn't need much convincing. Or maybe in the future Mulan takes that job as a counselor to the Emperor. Or rewind and show me what they were like as kids.

Arrow (TV 2012): Oliver Queen, Slade Wilson

[More of Slade teaching Oliver to fight and survive on the island. Or Slade showing up in Starling City and helping Team Arrow.]

Arrow! One of my surprise favorite new shows from last season. I really like seeing the progression between who Oliver was before the island, on the island, and who he is in current day Starling City. I love Slade and way he helps Oliver become someone who can survive the island. Maybe some more Slade and Oliver v Fyers and the mercenaries. Or how Oliver ended up being alone on the island when he was rescued. Or Slade comes to Starling City and helps out with the bad guy of the week.

Miss Marple - Agatha Christie: Jane Marple

[Miss Marple solving crime! Schooling the police on a high profile murder case or just helping her neighbors with little things like who's been stealing their newspaper off the stoop or why their daffodils won't bloom.]

I love Miss Marple and her china blue eyes and her knitting and her unobtrusive old lady guise hiding her razor-sharp Victorian mind. I'd like to see her solving any type of crime, from murder to the mundane. My favorite Miss Marple book is the set of short stories that make up The Tuesday Club Murders/Thirteen Problems. If you've read it, maybe a fourteenth problem in a similar vein? Or take me back to Miss Marple's younger years. Did she still spend most of her time gardening and observing or did she have Adventures? Or combine! Maybe there was a crime in St. Mary Mead 30 years ago that she could never quite solve but then her neighbor's silver carafe is stolen and bam the answer becomes obvious.

Again, thanks for writing for me :) I'm sure I'll love whatever you're inspired to write.
