long over due post

OKay... so I swear I didn't die. It's just  been crazy, and this post will endavour to explain why, because I'm sure you all were dying to find out what I've been up to.

So far starters the biggest issue is that my computer practically died last monday (the first day of school no less). The harddrive went bad and of course my computer was no longer under warranty.

I've spent over 48 hours over the last two weeks on the phone with Dell, (by the way did you know that it is exactly 12 hour difference between India and here, while running diagnostics and what not, we started talking about the weather. Fun fun... argh... I just wanted my computer.

So to make a long story short, they third guy I talked to at Dell is a moron. I made it explicitly clear that the billing address and the mailing address for the harddrive were different but NO, I had to talk to four more people to get  it changed so they would mail the harddrive to school rather than my house. But wednesday afternoon I got my harddrive and had it installed by midnight, spent all my free time (ha... a total of 3 hours) reinstalling my OS, Drivers (all though, I don't have my video drivers and the ones I downloaded off of the Dell support website say they won't work) Office, and my wireless internet.

All I've got left to do is reinstall my printer. On the brightside... my computer broke slowly, I was able to get the important stuff off but I couldn't save ANY of my music, videos or internet links... so now I've lost a ton of stuff, all my pictures... It's all slowly hitting me that I've lost it.  So my AMVs I can get back easily enough, but it really sucksssssssssssss.... I'm gonna have to re-get a bunch of episodes.  I was about to burn like four disks though....

My flutes this year are different. I'm not sure I like it, there's three or four that are really awesome but all the rest I don't think I would talk to if I met them in a different location it's really weird, this is the first time I've had so many Girly flutes in my section. They don't stay together they all go off in everywhich direction and spend more time talking to other guys in other sections than they do talking to the people in our section.

I've never been in a section like this before.  It's different.

So Hell week was way different this year.  They implemented this program called Cougs and Cubs, so we each got a freshmen and there were a bunch of programs that we were supposed to take our cubs to. I went to all the programs but my cub only went to 1 and 1/2 of them.
There was an ice-cream social and the who the are you party on monday, tuesday was a scavenger hunt (which by the way was WAY fun, tiring, but fun. We ran all over campus and all around downtown Pullman, and no transportation was allowed), wednesday was bowling, which was very fun (I think I scared everyone because Orochimaru's song from Naruto owned (you know, the ooh you touch my tra-la-la one) and I started singing it, what I thought was the chorus is apparently the only words in the song and they just keep getting repeated.) Then on thursday I got sung to a couple of times which was embarassing as ever, and then I had was forced into singing at the talent show, luckily only like ten people came to watch which weren't participating in the show. Billy and Peter sang the piccolo song and then a new one about band camp which was hillarious as well. Andrew sang 'If I only had a face' yes face, from Wizard of O, and friday we didn't do anything.

My birthday was the usual, I think  total of  eight people (that's including family members) remembered that it was my birthday. But I think its the first time I've ever gotten a gift from friends on my birthday. It made me really happy.

So on convocation day,  all the dining centers were closed down to get people to go to the All Campus Picnic but the line for the picnic was too long and we probably wouldn't have gotten food before we had to get back to practice, so a bunch of us went down to Quiznos.  As we were coming back I was getting a ride with one of my friends (who admittedly is gay) and we come across a group of guys playing ultimate frisbee, shirtless of course. He actually slows down the car and the car and stares at these guys and goes "Ooh, that's nice! Don't you think?" I don't think I've laughed that hard in a long time.

So I think that's it for band for now.

ha ha ha so there's going to be a ton of cuts in the this entry.

School stuff. So for starters, my Japanese teacher is a visiting professor from Japan, and she doesn't speak english in class. She talks really really fast too. It's going to be hard this year I can already tell.

Speaking of hard, i've only been in classes for two weeks and I've already had 12 tests, 3 papers, one presentation and 3 articles due and I'm not even gonna bother figuring out how many pages I've had to read but it's well over 400.

I added that Law class I needed to take, but it's a horrendously awful class.  The books we have to read might as well be written in ancient greek for the ammount of understanding I can gain from them. Let me tell you, I know nothing about US government, governmental proceedures or anything pertaining to law, so as It stands, I'm really screwed for that class, I'm gonna have to do a lot of extra reading to understand what I'm supposed to writing and presenting on.

I thought Asian Film was going to be an easy class but no. We don't watch movies in class, we have to go in on sunday evenings to watch the videos and its taught by Soeshima sensei, my new Japanese teacher, Queen of Quizzes and all that is tiresome and hard. She says that she has no problems giving F's and that American students don't usually earn A's. It's gonna be a hard class.

Psychology is not hard, it's just a lot of reading and online quizzes, but its basically the same stuff as Soc.

Journalism is going to be fun, but I have to do actually work. I actually have to go to speeches, I actually have to go to City Council meetings, and do actual consumer reports. I'm going to be doing actual work, it's not just made up stories and information, its real! My teacher is awesome, he just drinks a LOT of coffee and it does have an effect, he's very twitchy and he talks REALLY REALLY super fast,  10x faster than Soeshima sensei in Japanese.

My Japanese conversations class, other than the kid who hasn't ever taken Japanese, I'm the person with the least ammount of experience, everyone else has studied it four years or more. The Teacher/TA got so excited, she's not that great with english and is glad that she can just speak normally but  she uses words that I don't know. I feel really dumb in that class.

Labor day weekend, no one is here. I have a bunch of homework and I need to practice for the show. If anyone is interested, www.gpgmusic.com and the show is Second City Nights. Great music, hard music but good music. Apparently we're also playing at the Seahawks Halftime on the ninth.

Which leads me to my next point. The evening of September 7th and 8th I will be back in Bellevue. One of the nights I'm taking anyone in my section that wants to go to Sushiland, and the other night I'll be at home. So if anyone is still in town, they should come say hi. I'll let you know later this week what day will be which!

Time to go get lunch.

hell week, computer, school, flutes, seattle trip, band
